Wynwood, just north of Downtown Miami, turned from a warehouse district into one of the world's best-known open-air street-art neighborhoods. Almost every wall carries a mural, and the streets are packed with galleries, boutiques, breweries, coffee shops and restaurants.
What to see
The centerpiece is Wynwood Walls, a curated outdoor museum of large murals by artists from around the world (it has a ticketed entry). Some of the best murals, though, are free on the surrounding blocks, especially along NW 2nd Avenue. Galleries, design shops and food halls fill the side streets.

When to go
Weekday mornings are the quietest time for photos. Second Saturday Art Walk, held monthly, brings open galleries and street performers. Evenings and weekends are busy with bars and breweries.
Getting there
From Miami Beach, Wynwood is about 15 to 25 minutes by car or rideshare across the causeways. Parking garages fill up on weekends. Once there, explore on foot; the core area is only a few blocks wide.

- Wear comfortable shoes and bring water: there is little shade between murals.
- Murals change often, so even repeat visitors find new work.
