The 2026-27 Capital One Orange Bowl is a College Football Playoff semifinal, played on Thursday, January 14, 2027 at 7:30pm ET at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. The winner goes on to the national championship game. The two teams will not be known until the quarterfinals finish in early January, so most fans will be booking travel at short notice.
The game is shown nationally on TNT, truTV and HBO Max. Here is how to get tickets, reach the stadium and avoid the usual game-day problems.
When is the Orange Bowl this season?
The Orange Bowl is on Thursday, January 14, 2027, with kickoff set for 7:30pm ET. It is one of two CFP semifinals; the other, the Sugar Bowl, is the following night. The quarterfinals that feed the bracket are played on December 30, 2026 and January 1, 2027, so the matchup is decided less than two weeks before kickoff.
The Orange Bowl rotates roles within the playoff. In some seasons it is a quarterfinal on or around New Year's Day; in 2026-27 it is a semifinal, which usually means a bigger crowd and higher ticket prices.
How to get Orange Bowl tickets
Start with the Orange Bowl's own site, which links to the primary ticket seller, and only then look at resale. Ticket, hospitality and fan-event details for 2027 had not been announced when we checked in October 2026; the organizers said they would follow later.
- Before the matchup is set: prices can be lower, but you are betting on which teams make it.
- After the quarterfinals: demand jumps for fan bases that travel well, and prices on resale sites can move fast.
- Buy from verified sellers only: tickets are mobile, so screenshots and printed copies from strangers are a common scam.
- Bundle parking: on-site stadium parking must be bought before game day (see below).
How do you get to Hard Rock Stadium?
Hard Rock Stadium is about 20 miles north of South Beach by road, in Miami Gardens near the Broward County line. There is no direct rail line to the gate, so most visitors drive, take a rideshare, or use the train to Aventura plus a shuttle. Allow at least 60-90 minutes from Miami Beach on game night.
| Option | How it works | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Drive and park on site | Pre-paid stadium parking pass required | Passes are not sold at the stadium on game day |
| Park and ride | For Dolphins games, $10 lots at Seminole Hard Rock (Lot 70) and Golden Glades (Lot 95) with free shuttles | Confirm it runs for the Orange Bowl |
| Rideshare | Drop-off and pickup at Lot 44, Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex | About a 25-minute walk; surge pricing after the game |
| Brightline plus shuttle | Train to Aventura Station, then a free shuttle on selected event days | Shuttle runs only for designated trains and events |
| Taxi | Drop-off and pickup along NW 199th Street | First come, first served after the game |
The arrangements above are the ones the stadium used for the 2025 and 2026 football seasons. Check the stadium's transportation page in the week of the game for any Orange Bowl changes. Our Hard Rock Stadium guide has more on getting there from the beach.
Parking at the Orange Bowl
For big games at Hard Rock Stadium you need a parking pass bought in advance; you cannot pay at the lot entrance on game day. Lots close to the stadium sell out first, so buy parking at the same time as your tickets. If you are planning a tailgate, read the stadium's tailgating guidelines first, since rules on grills, tents and lot hours apply.
Bag policy and what to bring
Hard Rock Stadium enforces a clear bag policy. You can bring one clear bag no larger than 12 x 6 x 12 inches, or a small clutch or fanny pack up to 4.5 x 6.5 inches. Diaper bags are allowed but searched. A factory-sealed water bottle of 20 oz or less is permitted.
- Non-compliant bags can be checked near Gates 3, 5, 8 and 14 for $12-$20, card only.
- The stadium is cashless, so bring a card or phone wallet for food, drinks and merchandise.
- Mid-January nights in Miami are usually mild, but a light layer helps after sunset.
Where to stay for the Orange Bowl
Most visiting fans stay in Miami Beach or downtown and make the trip north on game day. If the game is your main reason for visiting, look at hotels in Aventura, Hollywood or Fort Lauderdale, which are closer to the stadium. If you want beach time around the game, South Beach is the classic base; browse our Miami hotels and book a refundable rate until your team's place is confirmed.
